Persevering Unity

Main Idea —

Paul warns Titus to avoid distractions and divisive people. Healthy churches are marked by unity, gentleness, and commitment to good works. Protecting unity is part of being a mature and grace-shaped community.

A church that is distracted by division and unfruitful debates cannot fulfill its mission. God calls us to be a people marked by gentleness, peace, and unity, so we may be ready and devoted to every good work.

Key Themes —

  • Dealing division.

  • Practicing gentleness.

  • Pray for a spirit of gentleness, humility, and grace in your church family.

  • Pray that your group and community would be ready for good works, marked by harmony.

Application / Takeaway —

  • Ask God to help you stay focused on what is profitable and eternal, rather than distracted by what is “unprofitable and worthless.”
