Ask anything at Alpha
What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring life’s questions through the context of the Christian faith.
Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to facilitate deep and honest conversation. Usually done around a table with food and people, anyone is welcome to the Alpha course regardless of worldview, background or opinion.
Our next run of the Alpha Course will be held at Openfields and run in 2 parts:
PART I - 08, 15, 22, 29 November 25
PART II - 10, 17, 24, 31 January 26
We will have some festive gatherings in-between in the month of December :)
We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore the Christian faith, ask questions and share their point of view.
What can I expect?
First there is Food,
Most sessions start with food, because it is a great way to build community and get to know each other. Whether it is a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It is no different at Alpha.
Then… there is a Film,
An episode of the alpha series will be played. The episodes unpack some of life’s deepest questions and the basics of the Christian faith, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus?, How can we have faith? and How does God guide us?
Followed by a Discussion.
Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group.
There is no obligation to say anything and there is nothing you cannot say or ask (seriously). It is an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
