Week 3

When Wisdom Isn’t Enough

Theme:
Week 3 names one of the deepest internal spiritual conflict: when faith, obedience, and wisdom do not produce the outcomes we expected. Ecclesiastes teaches that life’s limits are not evidence of God’s absence but the place where faith grows deeper. When formulas collapse, trust begins. Mature faith does not remove mystery — it learns to live faithfully within it.

Opening Questions:

  • What stood out from Sunday?

  • Is there an area in your life that has not gone the way you expected or desired?

Scripture Reading: Ecclesiastes 2:12 - 17, 7:15.

Read aloud slowly. Pause. Re-read.

Reflection Question:
Where in your life do you expect God to “make things work” because you’ve tried to do things right?

Group Discussion:

  • What is “transactional faith”?

  • Why do limits feel threatening?

  • What would trust look like when there are no guarantees?

Activation:
Ponder upon and write down one thing in your life that you cannot fix. Pray: “Lord I release what I cannot control.”

Prayer:
Lord God, we acknowledge Your greatness that is beyond our understanding. We release to You our need to control outcomes. We surrender the questions that have no answers. Teach us to trust You not because life is predictable, but because You are faithful. Teach us to trust You in mystery and help us walk with You even when the path is unclear. Amen.
