Refusing To Settle

This year’s theme is based on the passage in Genesis 11:27-32 where it records that Terah began the journey to Canaan but stopped in Haran. Haran felt like a step forward, but it was a familiar place and it was not full obedience.

We often face the same temptation: to move just enough to feel like we have changed, but not far enough to follow through on God’s call. The life of faith is a pilgrimage, not a stopover. If God has called us to Canaan, we cannot afford to settle in Haran. We are not called to camp out in comfort, but to press on in obedience. Faith is not about arriving quickly, it is about refusing to stop short. 

This is what God has been stirring in our community for the last few months, especially through the Vision Series that we had at the start of the year. We sense that our church is in a defining moment, a season of coming into our identity and destiny.

We believe the Lord has sounded a clear charge for us to not settle where we are, but to step fully into what God has in store for us. This year’s camp will take our community deeper into what it truly means to refuse to settle — to push past safe, familiar faith and say yes to God’s deeper call. We feel the Spirit is calling us into something deeper, somewhere we have not gone before. Would you answer the call?

Camp Speakers

  • Camp Speaker: Dan Yan

    Dan serves as Senior Pastor of Faith Community Church in Perth, Australia. He hails from Singapore but considers himself a global sojourner. He spent several years as an investment banker in Asia before serving as a pastor in the USA, Hong Kong and now Australia.

    ​Dan’s greatest passion is to help people encounter God in life-giving faith communities. Having ministered in various cities, cultures and demographics for over two decades, Dan has made it his life mission to disciple and empower God’s multi- ethnic, multi-generational people to change the world for Jesus.

    ​Joining him on this mission are his closest partners in life and ministry, his lovely wife Vanessa and son Jude. In his downtime, you’re most likely to find Dan in a coffee shop, out hiking, paddle boarding, or daydreaming about durians!

  • GUSH Kids Speaker: Sharon Chong

    Sharon is the head coach and founder of GENBRAVE. She brings with her close to 20 years of hands-on experience, working with children and teens from around the world.

    Sharon was also the former Children’s Church pastor and she currently serves as a lay pastor in Cornerstone. She is married to Ps Timothy, who is a pastor of Cornerstone Community Church. Both share a passion for the younger generation and give themselves wholeheartedly to raising the next generation. They have been happily married since 2002 and are blessed with four daughters.

Child package includes Bed and Food.

Camp rates are inclusive of 4D3N hotel accommodation, meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and hotel meeting rooms for sessions.

Early Bird rates has ended.

Family Discount

10% off total bill for families with 5 paying members or more. Only applicable for nuclear families, and includes Helper.

  • Yes! We believe that Church Camp should be open to all. Kindly email churchcamp@thecity.sg, and we will be happy to assist you.

  • No worries, we encourage you to indicate your interest first. We can work out the details later! In the event you are unable to join us, well, we will miss you! You can reach out to churchcamp@thecity.sg for us to process your refund.

  • Apologies, but the rates are fixed - just like how our eyes will be fixed on Jesus during camp.

  • We will not be able to offer the camp room rates for any advance booking aside from camp dates. Please arrange your own accommodation if you wish to arrive before camp or stay on after camp.
