  • Hi, church! Welcome to Sunday service! We are so glad to see you this morning.

  • Let us all stand as we prepare our hearts to worship.

  • (Read a short verse.)

  • LET US WORSHIP! (This is the cue for worship team to take over.)

TRANSITION
(After Worship)

  • Take over at 10.35am. Close Worship time. Church to be seated.

  • (If P6s and Youths start leaving for their classes.) We bless our P6s / youths as they go for their classes!

WELCOME

  • Welcome to Sunday service! I am (insert your name), one of the pastors / staff at The City.

  • If you are watching online, thank you for joining us. We hope to see you at our service soon.

    Newcomers:

  • In a few moments, we want to welcome any of you who are visiting for the first time.

  • We are so thankful you are here. We want to acknowledge your presence and pass a little gift to you.

INSIDE THE CITY LUNCH — 18 OCTOBER, 12.30PM

  • If you have been visiting and are still getting to know us, we would love to invite you to Inside The City Lunch.

  • This lunch gathering is a great opportunity to meet our staff team, connect with other newcomers, and hear more about who we are and what we are about.

  • We will share a little about our heart and vision as a church, the different ways you can find community and get involved, and also have a time for you to ask questions.

  • Whether you have been around for a while or only here for a couple of times, we would love to have you join us and get to know you!

WONDER WOMEN’S LUNCH WITH PS. SHARON CHONG — 25 OCTOBER

  • Ladies, we want to invite you for lunch after service on 25 October, with Ps. Sharon Chong, who will be our guest speaker that Sunday!

  • Ps. Sharon is the founder of GENBRAVE, an academy that offers emotional and resilience coaching for children and teens. She also previously served as a pastor at Cornerstone Community Church.

  • It will be a lovely opportunity to spend time together, get to know the other ladies in our community, and hear from Ps. Sharon as she shares from her experiences.

  • So, BYOL (bring your own lunch), and we hope to see you there for a time of fellowship and encouragement!

NEXT SUNDAY + SINGLES SURVEY —

  • Next Sunday, PAT will be sharing on Singleness.

  • To prepare for that, we would love to better understand the experiences, perspectives and needs of singles in our church community.

  • To help us listen and learn, we have prepared a short survey to hear from you about this season of life and how we can better support and serve you.

  • We would really appreciate you taking a few minutes to complete the survey. Your responses will help us understand where there may be opportunities for greater care, connection and support within our church community.

GIVING

  • Please stand as we pray this liturgy together as a way to posture our hearts in giving and to renew our dependence on God.

Father, we come before You with grateful hearts. You have welcomed us in through Your Son and given us every good gift.

All that we have belongs to You, and out of Your abundance we freely give today. Free us from the burden of endless accumulation, and teach us to unclench our fists from what we cannot keep.

Help us to be faithful stewards who give cheerfully — not from obligation, but with open hearts that love You and serve others.

Father, receive these gifts and use them for Your Kingdom and Your name’s sake. AMEN.

PASSING THE PEACE

  • At this time, we want to welcome one another as members of God’s family.

  • Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you."

  • When we pass the peace, we are not merely exchanging pleasantries. We are declaring that we belong to Christ and that, in Him, we belong to one another.

  • Let us read these words together:

  • Chair: "The peace of the Lord be with you always."

  • Congregation: "And also with you."

  • Now, let us take a moment to greet someone — perhaps someone new, or someone you have not spoken with in a while — and pass the peace of Christ to one another.

  • We are honoured to have Andrew Gardener with us this morning.

  • Born in the UK, Andrew moved to Hong Kong at age 11, where he met and later married his wife, Christine. They have a beautiful adopted daughter Mia. Andrew now serves as Senior Pastor of The Vine Church Hong Kong.

  • He is a dear friend of The City and have spoken at our camps and services many times. We are so glad he is here with us this morning.

RESPONSE & MINISTRY
(When Speaker is not closing)

  • As we remain in this posture of worship, we want to respond to what God is saying to us and for each other.

  • (a) The Ministry Team will also be available on my right to pray with you on specific prayer requests.

  • (b) These are some words of knowledge we received (if any); please come up to the Ministry Team for prayer if you resonate with any of the words.

  • (c) Let us all also look for someone to share and pray with. Let no one leave church without being prayed for.

  • Let me pronounce a blessing over you before we minister to one another.

May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you.
